A Culture of Trust
We understand trust is something that has to be earned.
We make every effort to build a culture of integrity and
openness where people trust Jesus and each other.

Faith as a Journey
We value the discovery process in everyone’s faith journey.
The more we discover God for who He is, the more our lives
and the lives of those around us are changed for the better.

Everyone Matters
We are not meant to be alone. We can only be what God
designed us to be when we build community; knowing and
being known by others, drawn together by a common bond
in Jesus Christ, and given courage and power by the Holy
   Spirit.

In the early 1920s, a small group of evangelists began holding “tent revivals” in the emerging city of San Bernardino, California. Many lives were changed as a result of God’s power present in those meetings. In 1923, under the leadership of evangelist William Maupin, the group chartered the first Assemblies of God church in the city. The church grew dramatically in its first few years, meeting in a facility built by volunteers on the same property where the tent meetings had been held (4th Ave. and A St.). In the early 1950s, the thriving faith community purchased property in the 800 block of North Mountain View Ave. and in 1951, completed the first phase of a campus there that would serve as its home for 56 years.
In late 2005, after 82 years of ministry in the greater downtown area, the church chose in faith to follow God's leading and replant in the growing community of northwest San Bernardino. First Assembly of God became North Hills (an Assemblies of God church). In summer of 2006, North Hills purchased property at 2935 W. Belmont Avenue (east of Palm Ave., north of Interstate 215). This site will become home to a new worship center designed to serve and meet the needs of a rapidly growing area of the city. However, building takes time and from 2006 until 2009, North Hills was a mobile church, meeting each weekend at Shandin Hills Middle School. In the spring of 2009, the church based full time at 2700 N. Little Mountain Dr. until the new Belmont Ave. campus can be completed.
